An assistant professor of women’s studies at Towson University in Maryland, is an interdisciplinary scholar who received her doctorate in economics from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst in May 2001. Her recent publications include "'On the Move': African American Women's Paid Domestic Labor and the Class Transition to Independent Commodity Production" [Rethinking Marxism 17, no. 4 (2005): 489-510] and "'This Job Has No End': African American Workers and Class Becoming" [In J.K.
