Women's and Gender Studies
Internships offer an excellent opportunity to gain practical experience, explore and confirm career choices, develop professional contacts, and learn new skills. WMST 496 Internship offers 3 credits of field placement for students in agencies or organizations working on projects that serve women. It requires 100-120 hours of unpaid work. Consult the current Undergraduate Catalog for the prerequisites for the Internships.
Internship may be are administered through either the Career Center or Women's and Gender Studies. The Career Center maintains a database of internship opportunities in the Baltimore and Washington, D.C., areas. Students interested in registering for WMST 496 must contact Dr. Gissendanner a month before or no later than two weeks prior to the semester in which they plan on doing the internship.
