What is the Writing Lab?
The Lab
is a tutoring service located in Linthicum Hall, Room 308. We
provide individual writing help at any stage of the writing process.
2.
Who Uses the Writing Lab?
The
Writing Lab is available to Towson’s undergraduates, graduates,
faculty, and staff.
Both
experienced and novice writers can benefit .
Although peer-tutors are not experts in every major offered at
Towson, we can help students work on the writing aspects of any
assignment, for any course.

Can You
Proofread?
Sorry,
but no. While proofreading is important, the Lab seeks to make you a
better proofreader of your own work.

Do I Need an Appointment?
You can take a chance and stop by,
but it’s safer to schedule an appointment so that you’re certain you
can get help when you need it.

How Do I make an Appointment?
Call
the Writing Lab at 410-704-2857 or stop by Linthicum Hall, Room 308.

Who are the tutors?
Writing
tutors are undergraduate students, graduate students, and
professional staff.

Will My Professor
Know I Visited the Lab?
Yes,
tutors send a form to your instructor after each session indicating
that you’ve come to the Lab and letting your instructor know what
you’ve worked on. If you’d like to see the form before it’s sent,
just ask your tutor.
9.
How long is an Advising
Session?
Advising sessions are thirty minutes to an hour long depending upon
your needs and the assignment.

How Often Can I
Meet with a Tutor?
The Lab
can usually accommodate one session a week, but not more than one.
