The University of California Cowell Hospital Program (35th
Anniversary), the Rolling Quads and the Physically Disabled
Students' Program (Ed Roberts and John Hessler)
- Center for Independent Living (CIL) (25th Anniversary):
Building community. Creating access, services, housing,
counseling, education, and jobs. First public curb cut.
- Development of disability organizations:
CTP, DREDF, WID, BORP, CAT, ADAPT, Kid's Project
- Civil Rights:
The 504 Sit-In (20th Anniversary) and the Americans with
Disabilities Act (ADA)
- Transportation Access:
Buses, BART, airlines, trains, paratransit
- Integrating the Schools:
Mainstreaming and Inclusion
- Assistive technology:
