Write Protect - Diskettes

Write protecting a disk means that you physically prevent anyone (or a virus) from writing to the disk.

To write protect your 5.25" or 3.5" diskette, follow these directions:

Write protect a 5.25" disk:
When purchased, the 5.25" disks usually come with some black or silver tab tapes (can use small piece of scotch tape). You place the tape over the rectangular cutout (Illustration below)


Write protect a 3.5"disk:
Slide the little write protect tab "open" so that light passes through. (Illustration below)
