We are happy to announce...
astronaut Jan Davis is giving the featured talk.  

Jan is a veteran of 3 space shuttle missions beginning in 1992. Her mission highlights include conducting experiments in life, earth, and materials science, as well as the operation of a robotic arm. 

 In 1994, Jan was part of the first Space Shuttle flight on which a Russian Cosmonaut was a crew member.

Calling all 5th-8th grade girls—
parents and teachers too!


    Reach for the Stars at the Sally Ride Science Festival at Towson University on Saturday,       June 2, 2007, from 11:00 am to 4:15 pm.

     The festival features:

  • An inspiring talk by astronaut Jan Davis
  • Discovery Workshops for girls, given by local scientists and engineers (examples include chemists, veterinarians, microbiologists, and others)
  • Workshops for parents and teachers on ways to support girls' interests in science and math
  • A Street Fair with booths, hands-on activities, food, and music
     Advance registration is required and is $18. The registration fee includes the featured talk, workshops, lunch, and the Street Fair.
