Liz has a passion for helping children, young adults and families. She joined Towson University over 15 years ago, first as a technology trainer and then as a learning specialist. Mrs. Scarbrough received her B.A. in chemistry from the University of San Diego, followed by her M.S. in chemistry from Carnegie Mellon University. Most recently she completed her M.Ed. in early childhood education at Towson University. In her free time her greatest joy is spending time with family. She also enjoys solving puzzles, playing games and working for College for Kids.

Tabatha has over two years of experience in higher education, focusing in learning centers. Recently moving to the area from Florida, she joins Towson University. She studied at Salisbury University, earning her B.A. in Psychology with a minor in Conflict Analysis and Dispute Resolution, along with her M.Ed. in post-secondary education. She has as st. bernard dog, Juliet who keeps her very busy. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her friends, or reading.

Cody earned an M.S. in Mathematics from Southern Illinois University in 2011 and is currently in pursuit of an Ed.D in Math Education from Morgan State University. He has an affinity for higher education and the diversity it holds, with a special interest in math attitudes. In his leisure time he likes to read, solve Rubik's cubes, and spend time with his wife, cats, and rats.

Charles has been a student at Towson University for 5 years, earning his B.S. in Psychology in 2016. He is currently in pursuit of his M.A. in Counseling Psychology. Charles interns as a counselor for Baltimore City children and adolescents as well as their families. In his spare time, he enjoys listening to music, googling random information he most likely will never use, and spending time with family and friends.

Kassandra joined the Academic Achievement Center in 2014 and brings three years of USM experience in academics, advising as well as a passion for helping others succeed. She is currently earning a bachelor’s in Social Sciences with a minor in Women’s Studies. In her spare time she enjoys listening to music, dancing, cheering for her favorite sports teams, and spending time with her family.

She earned her Master’s in Counseling from the University of Wisconsin at Whitewater and her bachelor’s degree in English literature from the University of Wisconsin at Madison. Tara graduated from The College at Brockport, State University of New York, with a B.S. in Psychology and a minor in Biology.  During her time as an undergraduate, she worked as a tutor and teaching assistant.  She is now pursuing a Master of Arts in Psychology with a clinical concentration.  In her spare time, she enjoys painting and photographing nature as well as spending time with her husband and cat.

Troy earned his B.M. at the Cleveland Institute of Music and Case Western Reserve University. He then went on to earn his M.M. from the University of Denver. Troy joined the Towson University Music Department in 2001 where he works as a lecturer and head of guitar programs. Troy enjoys mentoring students, performing, and spending time with his children.

Liina, a Towson University alumna, completed her M.S. in physical organic chemistry at UMBC. In addition to coordinating the science tutoring for the Academic Achievement Center, she is also an instructor for the Department of Chemistry. Her interest in chemical education has led to the development of her website (URL: www.towson.edu/~ladon) with over 200 pages of study aids for chemistry. The site has become one of the top sites on the Internet for chemistry help.

Kelli earned her B.A. in sociology with a minor in psychology from the Metropolitan State University of Denver. She then earned her M.A. in applied sociology from UMBC. Kelli has over five years of experience working in education in a variety of roles. She enjoys working directly with students as well as developing and refining programs that meet student needs. In her spare time, Kelli loves to travel and spend time with her family.

Danielle graduated from Virginia Tech in 2016 with a B.S. in Forest Resources & Environmental Conservation and is now pursuing her Master of Arts in Teaching with a secondary earth-space science education track.  She plans to spend some of her career teaching middle school science and some as a park ranger in a major national park. Always one to prefer the outdoors, Danielle enjoys hiking and backpacking with her beagle, Lilah, as well as running with her mini dachshund, Maggie. She also likes throwing pottery, cooking, and learning about computer programming.

Sarah Preston is a recent graduate of East Carolina University where she earned her B.S. in Chemistry and minor in Forensic Science. She has worked as a tutor and teaching assistant during her time as an undergraduate. She is pursuing her Master's in Forensic Science with a concentration in chemistry and toxicology. In her spare time, she enjoys crafting, cooking, and traveling to experience different cultures and cuisines. She also loves spending time with family and friends.

Angela enjoys the vivacious college atmosphere of students seeking a valuable goal. Born and raised in Baltimore, her path turned toward Towson University. She attended TU as a student, worked on campus as a student assistant, earned a B.A. degree in mass communications and devotes her career in higher education as a full-time staff member. In addition to her enjoyment of working with college students for over 21 years, Ms. Simms cherishes church fellowship, giving to the needy and missionaries, traveling, interior decorating and delicious meals with friends and family.

Richard has been employed in higher education as an instructional designer, facilities coordinator and adjunct professor. Areas of interest include the following: the learning process, Web design, individualized instruction, online education, instructional technology, and public health and safety.
