You can apply to the following programs: Intensive Academic English, TOEFL Preparation, IELTS Preparation, English Conversation & Culture, and Accent Modification.

Intensive Academic English

Intensive Academic English is available to all students who are older than seventeen years. There are three separate application processes for students depending on your visa:

  • Full-time F-1 students outside of the U.S.
  • Full-time transfer F-1 students already in the U.S.
  • Part-time students (U.S. Permanent Resident/Citizen, F-2 visa, B visa, J visa, or other).

APPLICATION FOR FULL-TIME F-1 STUDENTS (OUTSIDE US)

Complete this Intensive Academic English Application form (PDF) for full-time F-1 students. 

NEXT STEPS : -

  1. Provide a copy of your passport. Provide a passport copy of any family that is traveling with you.
  2. Provide an official bank statement, bank letter, or scholarship letter in English. Review the costguide2018-19 to see how much money needs to be in the bank. If someone else is responsible for payment of your tutiton and/or housing complete these forms.
      1. Complete a Statement of Willingness (PDF) for the bank statement or letter.
      2. Complete a Room and Board Statement of Willingness (PDF) if a family member in the US is providing housing and food for the student.
  3. If you are bringing a child or a spouse, complete a Request for Family Member Visa Certificate (PDF).
  4. Pay the $50 application fee.

        What will happen next:-

  1. We will create your I-20.
  2. You will recieve a copy on your email.
  3. Please verify the information and confirm with us that it is correct.
  4. When you will confirm the information, we will ship the original I-20 to you.
  5. You will need your I-20 for your VISA interview.

APPLICATION FOR TRANSFER FULL-TIME F-1 STUDENTS (IN US)
  1. Complete Intensive Academic English Application form (PDF) for full-time F-1 students outside of the U.S.  
  2. Include a U.S. and a foreign address on the Intensive Academic English Application.
  3. Provide a copy of your passport. Provide a passport copy of any family that is traveling with you.
  4. Provide a copy of your visa and I-94.
  5. Provide an official bank statement, bank letter, or scholarship letter in English. Review the costguide2018-19 to see how much money needs to be in the bank.
  6. Complete a Statement of Willingness (PDF) for the bank statement or letter.
  7. Complete a Room and Board Statement of Willingness (PDF) if a family member in the US is providing housing and food for the student.
  8. If you are bringing a child or a spouse, complete a Request for Family Member Visa Certificate (PDF).
  9. Send in the $50 application fee.
  10. There is an additional $75 express mail fee if you want your I-20 mailed to you outside of the U.S. Please pay this with your application fee.
  11. Provide a transcript from your previous school.
  12. Have your current school complete a Transfer of Eligibility Certificate (PDF).

TOEFL Preparation

The TOEFL Preparation course is  available to part-time students and F-1 students who are already taking full-time classes.

TOEFL course, dates, fees and tuition

Spring 2018: February 13 to April 26 (No Class - Spring Break March 19-25)

Summer 2018: June 5 to July 26

Fall 2018: September 5 to November 15

Tuition: $675 - Summer, 8 weeks / $700 - Fall and Spring, 10 weeks.

 

TOEFL paper-based exam registration and dates

Spring 2018: Saturday, April 28 at 9:00 am

Summer 2018: Saturday, July 28 at 9:00 am

Fall 2018: Saturday, November 17 at 9:00 am

Test Registration Fee: $65

Test Registration Date:  One week prior to the Exam

Weekend and semester-long courses are ideal for Au pairs.

In the weekday (13 weeks) semester sessions, you will practice your conversation skills, reading, writing, and listening. Learn about U.S. culture and history in the classroom and through field trips in Baltimore.

To earn 3 credit hours and a certificate of completion:

- complete all homework assignments and no more than two absences per semester.  

SPRING 2018 WEEKEND SESSION DATES

March 18-19: Saturday and Sunday, 9:00am to 6:00pm

April 29-30: Saturday and Sunday, 9:00am to 6:00pm

Application Fee: $25

Tuition: $300

To earn 3 credit hours and a certificate of completion:

- Complete 16 hours of homework prior to beginning session dates.

- Attend all 18 hours of class.

Sept. 13 to Dec. 13 ( No Class Thanksgiving): Thursday evenings 6:30pm - 9:30pm

If you are staying overnight, you can make a reservation at the Towson University Marriott Conference Center for $99 a night. Student must make their own transportation arrangements to and from BWI Airport. We also recommend that you try AirBnb.

 

 

Accent Modification

The Accent Modification class is available to all part-time students and F-1 students who are already taking full-time classes.
