Housing Information

Student Housing

If you have conditional admission to TU, you may choose to live in campus housing.  Off campus housing is less expensive and offers a wide variety to choose from:

  • Within walking distance of campus
  • On the free Towson University shuttle route.

Meal plans are available to you whether you live on or off campus

The Towson ELC staff will be happy to answer questions you might have about housing. Information concerning on and off campus housing can be found at the links below.

Off Campus Housing

Students enrolled in the English Language Center will find that there are a number of apartment complexes that are within walking distance of the campus.

  • You can expect to pay an average of $500 - $650.00 per person per month in a double occupancy apartment. Rents are higher if a student lives alone.
  • A free Towson University shuttle bus provides transportation to the apartments surrounding the university.

On Campus Housing

  • Students who have conditional admission to Towson University's Undergraduate Program can live on campus while they are studying at the Towson ELC.
  • Costs range from $1,908 to $2,395 per student, per semester, depending on the type of accommodations.
  • Dormitory living is available during the summer session ONLY for students who request on campus housing on their Towson ELC Application Form. During the summer, the cost is approximately $150 per week.
  •  Students who live on campus must purchase a Meal Dining Plan. The plan allows the student to have a certain number of meals per week on campus. The cost of the meal plan varies with the number of meals selected.
  • NOTE: Because campus housing is limited, students who wish to apply to live on campus should do so at the earliest possible date before the semester they want to begin studying in the Towson ELC.

We strongly recommend that you choose an apartment in the following areas or along the Towson University free shuttle route.

  • Towson
  • Timonium
  • Lutherville
  • Cockeysville
  • Charles Village near Johns Hopkins University and Loyola University on the free Collegetown shuttle route.
