My advice to anyone who’s applying. Before becoming a TU student, you have so many opportunities to learn about what we have to offer. Attend an open house. Go on a tour. Take advantage of as many chances to learn about Towson University as you can.
What I like most about my job. I enjoy the opportunities to travel that I have as an Admissions Counselor. It gives me the chance to take a little bit of TU to a new city/town.
My own student experiences helped prepare me for my job. During my senior year at the University of Maryland, I worked in the Office of Undergraduate Admissions which allowed me to learn about the admissions process and use that knowledge to serve as a resource to students and their families. Although this position was initially out of my comfort zone, it allowed me to learn more about my school and build valuable relationships.
Why I work in admissions. Working with young people is something that I am very passionate about. I understand the importance of them having a counselor who is dedicated to helping them achieve their goals.
