TUCD's summer 2020 Pre-Collegiate programs for will run from July 20 - August 21.
These offerings are meant to educate and broaden the minds of our dancers, in order
to help them appreciate and integrate self expression and knowledge of dance past
Towson University Community Dance employs nationally recognized dance faculty and
staff who create an encouraging yet challenging environment. We strive to engage dancers
to sample the exciting world of sophisticated, inventive choreography. Our curriculum
emphasizes strong technical foundations while refining and inspiring each dancer’s
body to reach full potential.
The following programs are offered:
Ballet Intensive, ages 12-14
july 20 - 24, 9 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.
Modeled and developed for the dancer seeking more in-depth training and focus to strengthen
technique, alignment, core strength, and dance repertory. Daily classes include Classical
Ballet with supplementary training in Ballet Variations, Pre-Pointe or Pointe work,
Pilates, Somatics and Repertory
Modern Intensive ages 14-18
August 17 - 21, 9 a.m. - 4 p.m.
The intermediate/advanced student can extend his/her summer training to include a
full week of dancing in Modern Technique and study. Daily Modern Technique classes with supplementary studies in Improvisation, Partnering,
Somatics and Repertory.
