Sharyn joined the Division of Innovation and Applied Research in 2001. In her current role, she oversees a team of outreach professionals and manages the development and implementation of a range of graphic design, marketing, and outreach campaigns and initiatives aligned with the strategic plan of the Division of Innovation and Applied Research. In addition, she supports website and application development projects ensuring that website visitors can easily find and use complex information presented through these mediums. She applies her website development expertise and target audience research to determine a logical approach for users’ skill levels and their diverse business needs.
Sharyn also supports GIS application development projects delivering information to support informed decision making for government agencies in Maryland on topics such as mapping available childcare, environmental management efforts, traffic accidents, emergency management, and broadband availability.
Sharyn holds a M.A. in publications design from University of Baltimore and a B.S. in graphic design from Towson University.
Sharyn enjoys watching movies, cooking, and spending time with her husband and two children. As a designer, she also can be found designing invitations, decorating, and refinishing furniture.
