As an economist at the Regional Economic Studies Institute (RESI), Katie has numerous roles, including primary and secondary data collection and analysis, methodology design, and report writing and editing. She has contributed to a variety of projects, such as an economic and fiscal impact analysis of Class I Railroads and Towson University’s 150th Anniversary Study. She is a primary contributor to RESI's monthly newsletter Eye on the Economy.
Prior to joining RESI in 2015, Katie worked in the healthcare industry as a diagnostic medical sonographer. Strong attention to detail, effective communication, adaptability, and professionalism are skills that she has retained as assets in her new position.
Katie holds a B.S. in economics from Towson University and an A.S. in diagnostic medical sonography from Pennsylvania College of Health Science. She is in the process of completing pursuing a Masters of Professional Studies in applied economics at the University of Maryland, College Park, expected May 2018.
Katie enjoys reading, watching movies, tackling puzzles, cooking, and hiking with her husband and dog.
