Nate joined the Center for GIS in 2015 as a GIS specialist, working closely with co-workers to provide GIS data analysis and on-site GIS support for clients.
Nate assisted in an update to the Maryland Transit Administration’s (MTA) TIGERS mapping application. He performed on-site data verification and post site visit data clean-up for a defined set of assets that are used to track environmental compliance.
He also provides on-site GIS support for the Office of Real Estate and Economic Development (MD Department of Transportation) to assist in the sale of properties and the preparation of resources for transit-oriented development (TOD) projects.
Prior to joining Towson University, Nate worked as a geospatial specialist for University of Maryland Baltimore County, where he assisted in the development of space management applications and developed ways to leverage CAD data within ArcGIS applications..
Nate holds a B.A. in Geography from University of Maryland Baltimore County.
Nate is a native of Baltimore but left after high school to work for the forest service as a wildland firefighter and returned to pursue his college degree. In his free time Nate enjoys listening to podcasts, cooking, playing board games, watching movies, and reading.
