Nominations Open for BTU Partnership Awards

Through BTU: Partnerships at Work for Greater Baltimore, TU faculty, students, and staff are working with partners across Maryland to address community needs. This work is impactful.

To recognize this work, Towson University is proud to present the BTU Partnership Awards. These awards celebrate the efforts of you—faculty, students, staff, community partners—and the collaborative work being done that embodies the spirit of TU and benefits the communities we serve.

Why Get Involved with BTU?

BTU is one of eight presidential priorities with a goal of enhancing and strengthening existing partnerships. If you have any partnership throughout Greater Baltimore (or beyond), you need to be a part of BTU:

  • Through reporting, partnerships will have elevated exposure to university leadership and external partners.
  • TU Faculty and Staff with listed partnerships will be made aware of opportunities and events to further collaborate on and grow their partnerships.
  • The BTU Council, a diverse group of faculty and staff across the university, is in place to brainstorm solutions to partnership roadblocks and support your efforts when collaborating with external partners.
  • By assessing outcomes, we will continually look for ways to improve and strengthen partnerships and provide faculty and staff with valuable data to use in evaluation materials and future grant requests.


To eliminate the barrier parking and transportation poses for engaging in successful collaborations with off-campus partners, BTU is providing transportation funding and parking codes for the purpose of bringing partners onto TU’s campus, and/or bringing TU faculty, staff, and students off-campus to engage in partnership work.

For transportation needs, complete a request form at least three weeks prior to the date for which transportation/parking services are needed. 

What Does BTU Include?

BTU network partners include, but are not limited to, schools, community groups, federal, local, and state government agencies, foundations, healthcare providers, nonprofits, sponsors, businesses, economic development organizations, and arts and cultural entities.

BTU is how TU is putting partnerships to work for Greater Baltimore. If you are working with an external agency in any of the following areas, then that engagement is part of the BTU network.

How Do I Become a Part of BTU?  

In an effort to streamline the collection and evaluation of partnership information, a BTU Database has been created to support all facets of the BTU network and serve as a central collection point. In order to know what's happening on campus and to capture, report, and support all that is going on between TU and its many partners, we rely on TU faculty and staff to share information about their activities through the BTU Database Form.

If you are a TU faculty or staff member that is currently working with an external partner, please complete the BTU Database Form.

If you have previously submitted information about a partnership or relationship, the Office of Partnerships and Outreach will contact you in the spring for updated feedback.
