Admission Requirements & Deadlines

Application Deadline

This program accepts students for fall, spring and summer terms. To ensure timely processing, submit your application and supporting materials as early as possible. Application deadlines are August 1, January 2, and May 1, respectively.  While we may continue to accept the supporting materials after these dates, we cannot guarantee that your application will be reviewed in time for the start of classes.

Admission Requirements

  1. Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university* with a minimum GPA of 3.0 (2.75 for conditional admission) in either the cumulative units of the degree or the last 60 units of the degree. An admission exception policy is in place for eligible candidates with undergraduate degrees obtained at least 5 years ago.
  2. Completion of the following courses with a grade of “C” or better
    1. Human development across the life span (1 lower division course)
    2. Human Biological Science (1 lower division course)
    3. Social or Behavioral Science (1 lower division course)
  3. Resume detailing your human service, volunteer, and/or career experience. A minimum of 30 hours of such experience is required.

 Students may request a competency in lieu of coursework review by the Post Baccalaureate Certificate Program Committee for the required courses for admission. Students must submit documentation of didactic preparation (e.g. workshops, professional development, or related courses) and professional practice that verifies course content mastery.
