Jenée Marquis joined the Physical Education Teacher Education faculty in the Department of Kinesiology in 2020. Dr. Marquis’ teaching interests include instructional alignment, educational dance, and instructional models within K-12 physical education. Her research interests include the planning, implementation, and assessment of Comprehensive School Physical Activity Programs (CSPAPs), instructional efficacy of Physical Education Teacher Education (PETE) programs, and the teaching and learning of educational dance. As a teacher educator, she strives to guide her students beyond the “How To” of teaching physical education and into an embodied existence of their profession. She believes that this embodiment is centered at the intersection of curiosity, critical examination, introspection, and personal experience in the landscape of movement and education. She currently serves on the Board of the National Dance Society where she is Chair of the Research and Evaluations Council.
