Janet Tompkins McMahon is a member of the faculty of Towson University in Hagerstown, Maryland as Clinical Associate Professor of Nursing. Her teaching area of focus is adult health, pharmacology and medical surgical nursing. Ms. McMahon is a member the National League for Nursing (NLN) and has served on the board of governors. In addition, she is a former President elect and board member for the DC-MD League for Nursing.

Ms. McMahon has years of experience and has previously served with both the Accreditation Commission for education in Nursing (ACEN) as a site visitor for accreditation, and the National Council State Board of Nursing (NCSBN) as an item writer and reviewer. She is also a presenter and consultant in collaboration with NurseTim Inc. Ms. McMahon has also authored, contributed and reviewed for various publishers and textbooks nationwide.

Ms. McMahon is a Williamsport, Pennsylvania native. She is graduate of the Geisinger Medical Center School of Nursing, Danville, PA, St. Francis University and the Pennsylvania State University. She is a member of Sigma Theta Tau International and received distinguished awards from the Penn State University and various nursing organizations.
