The Clinical Curriculum
Both the NCATE Blue Ribbon Panel on Clinical Preparation and Partnerships for Improved
Student Learning (2010) and AACTE’s Clinical Practice Commission (2017) argue the
most effective way to develop strong pedagogical skills in teachers is by ensuring
their programs are “grounded in clinical practice.” The College of Education at Towson
University is committed to providing teacher candidates meaningful and scaffolded
clinical opportunities to build their skills in the most essential areas for practice.
