Biography

I am currently an instructor of literacy courses and a supervisor of interns in the Elementary Education Department at Towson University. I had previously taught for 29 years in Baltimore County Public Schools as an elementary classroom teacher and for 4 years in St. Louis County Public Schools as a Reading Specialist.

I received my Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from the University of Delaware in 1976. I completed my Masters of Education as a Reading Specialist from Loyola College Maryland in 1981.

While at Towson University I have been an instructor for the following courses: ELED 323-Principles & Practices of Reading & Language Arts in the Elem. School, EDUC 417-Children’s Literature and Other Materials for Teaching Reading and Language Arts in Elem. School, ELED 429- Principles and Practices in Reading and Language Arts, and ELED 469-PDS Internship II Seminar (Level IV).

I have also been a Supervisor and Liaison for EDUC 363- Language and Literacy Internship (Level I) and ELED 468-PDS Internship II (Level IV).

In addition to classroom responsibilities, I have been a Student Advisor and have been a faculty representative at numerous Open Houses and Accepted Student Receptions.
