The Educational Technology Center, located in Hawkins Hall 210, provides for the classroom computing and instructional media needs of the College of Education. The most visible part of the Center is the open computing lab which contains 25 Windows 7 computers (with Office 2013) which are available to students on a first-come, first-served basis, and space to accommodate laptops and tablets with access to the University Wi-fi. The computers in the Educational Technology Center provide access to several software suites used throughout the college curriculum including ActiveInspire, SmartNotebook, and Inspiration. A variety of services are available to College of Education students, including Internet access, Microsoft Office, reserve materials and assorted multimedia facilities.
The Center employs a number of student assistants.
Multimedia facilities - scanners, digital cameras, and other media tools are available to education faculty and approved student use.
Multimedia, laptops, iPads, and traditional audiovisual media equipment may be borrowed by facutly and staff of Towson University for classes meeting in Hawkins Hall.
The staff of the Ed Tech Center are available for general technical support and advice to Education faculty.
