Barbara Benitez-Curry is an award-winning producer who has worked in the field of broadcast news for more than 15 years. She began her career by working on several documentaries in the United Kingdom. She became an entertainment reporter at CNN-Los Angeles in 2002 before she moved to the network's Atlanta office to cover several news stories including the 2003 Iraq War, the 2004 Asian Tsunami and Hurricane Katrina in 2005.  For her participation in CNN's stellar coverage, Barbara received a Peabody, a Dupont, and a National Headliner award. In 2006, Barbara left CNN to help launch Al Jazeera English News Channel's Washington DC bureau, where she reported on poverty and other issues in Latin America. Through her work as a producer, as well as a reporter, she has covered a wide range of international and domestic stories.
