Media Center

Society of Professional Journalists

The Society of Professional Journalists is one of the oldest professional organizations for journalists in the United States. The Towson University chapter regularly invites experienced journalists to speak to students. The group meets at 5 p.m. Mondays in Media Center 203. American Advertising Federation

The American Advertising Federation is the oldest national advertising trade association. The Towson chapter meets at 5 p.m. on Wednesdays in Media Center room 203. The Towson chapter is available on Facebook and Twitter. The officers, Sara Lohse and Jaimie Susson, can be reached via e-mail at

Towson Student PR Group

The PR Group is a student-led membership organization that is comprised of student chapters of the two dominant public relations professional associations, The Public Relations Society of America and the International Association of Business Communicators. These professional associations offer working PR practitioners professional development, networking, and leadership development opportunities. The PR Group does the same thing for Towson PR students to help them prepare for their careers. The PR Group elects student officers, conducts bi-weekly business meetings with the full membership, and sponsors various educational and networking opportunities, often with working practitioners. The PR Group’s premier event is its Career Networking Fair held every April. The Fair brings together employers who have both internships for undergraduates and full-time employment opportunities for graduates.
