Application Deadline

This program is currently not accepting applications.

  • Fall admission: August 15
  • Spring admission: January 7
  • Summer admission: June 1

Admission Requirements 

  • A baccalaureate degree from a regionally accredited college or university**.

  • A minimum GPA of 3.00 for full admission, 2.75 for conditional admission. All GPA calculations for admission are based upon the last 60 units of undergraduate and post-baccalaureate study.

  • Teaching experience is preferred, but not required

  • A current resume

  • A detailed statement of intent of two to three, double-spaced pages demonstrating the applicant’s readiness for graduate level work and describing the following: background in arts and/or education, why the candidate sees the MAIAI program as a good fit, and professional goals in seeking the degree. 

  • The MAIAI program has two different tracks. Please visit the graduate catalog for the most current information about the required courses for each track.

Non-immigrant international students: Because the program is designed primarily for full-time employed professionals, non-immigrant applicants needing to obtain or maintain F-1 or J-1 student visa status may at times be required to take classes not associated with the program in order to maintain a full course of study each semester. This results in increased tuition, fees, and credits beyond the normal program requirements. See additional admission information in International Graduate Admissions
