Students interested in becoming undergraduate mass communication majors must first become pre-mass communication majors (PMCO) and enroll in the required screening courses. This requirement applies to incoming freshmen, transfer students, currently enrolled Towson University students and students working on a second bachelor’s degree.
Once completing the eligibility requirements outlined above, students can declare Mass Communication (MCOM) as their major by completing the online application here.
Admission applications are due during finals week. Spring applications should be received
by May 20 will be processed by June 30. Summer applications received by Aug. 15 will
be processed by Aug. 31. Fall applications received by Dec. 20 will be notified by
Jan. 30.
The Department will wait until all grades are in before processing applications. Students
will be notified by email to their Towson University email address of their acceptance
or denial.
Students who are denied may re-apply. Appeals should be addressed to the Department Chairperson, and be in the form of a letter accompanied by a transcript.
