This year's TUETW will be held on September 21 and 22, 2019. Don't miss it!
In 1974, the former principal trombonist of the National Symphony, Dr. John Marcellus,
and the former principal trombonist of the Baltimore Symphony and former trombone
professor at Towson University, John Melick, started the Eastern Trombone Workshop
at Towson University. The workshop eventually moved to different locations and currently
takes place at the home of the U.S. Army Band in Washington D.C. In 2014, the Army
Band changed the name of the ETW to the American Trombone Workshop (ATW).
TU Department of Music faculty co-hosts Jim McFalls and Dave Perkel are bringing the Eastern Trombone Workshop back to its original home with masterclasses, clinics, vendors, and everything else trombone! Our guest artists this year include Matthew Vaughn, co-principal trombone with the Philadelphia Orchestra and Darius Christian '11, a New York based trombonist who has worked with Macklemore, Adele, and many other current artists.
TUETW is a wonderful opportunity for trombonists of all ages to learn, share, and grow!
Registration is $25 per participant and includes both days of the workshop.
