Biography

Dr. Malinda Haslett, Soprano, has sung over 30 major roles, including renowned roles as Violetta, Juliette, Pamina, Susanna, and Mimí in opera houses in Paris, Brussels, Berlin, Rome, as well as domestically.  She was an Ambassadorial Scholar from the United States to Italy and has sung solo recitals for two sitting presidents.  Her recent collaboration with Daraja Music Initiative took her to East Africa where she not only sang recitals but fed her deep desire to bridge cultural gaps, by teaching music as varied as Bach and Annie Lenox.  Dr. Haslett was recently on faculty at University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia and earned her Doctorate of Musical Arts at Stony Brook University.
