Vaccine Exemptions

There are limited exemptions to University System of Maryland COVID-19 vaccination requirements for TU students, faculty and staff on campus. 

Medical Exemption Requests

You may request a vaccine exemption if you have an allergy to the COVID-19 vaccine or a specific medical condition that precludes the COVID-19 vaccination requirement. If seeking a medical exemption, you must consult with your physician and complete the Medical Exemption Form (PDF).  Submit the completed form as documentation with your request.

Religious Exemption Requests

You may request a vaccine exemption if sincerely held religious beliefs or practices conflict with the  COVID-19 vaccination requirement. Documentation in support of a religious exemption may be provided by completing the Religious Exemption Form (PDF). Submit the completed form as documentation with your request.

Exemption Review Process

Student medical exemption requests will be reviewed by the University Health Center. Faculty and staff medical exemption requests will be reviewed by the Office of Human Resources. Religious exemption requests will be reviewed by the Office of Inclusion and Institutional Equity. All requests will be reviewed and decisions will be communicated within 10 business days of submission.
