The Counseling Center offers currently enrolled students several different kinds of help, starting with a private and confidential initial meeting with a counselor.
Brief individual counseling can help you:
- Increase your self-understanding
- Resolve problems
- Feel better
- Learn new skills.
Brief couples counseling can provide a safe atmosphere for you and a partner to examine and improve your relationship.
Psychiatry consultants are available in case you might need psychiatric evaluation and medication in addition to personal counseling.
Counseling groups are particularly helpful for many concerns and goals, giving members an opportunity to share experiences, solve problems and practice new skills.
You might be ready to join one of our counseling groups right away as your first ongoing service, or you might consider group counseling after having had a few individual counseling sessions.
Specialized services are available if you are troubled either by your own or someone else’s abuse of alcohol or drugs.
Various individual and group counseling programs are offered, including a court-approved program for those who have received a DUI citation.
Students are invited to attend guided meditations led by Counseling Center clinicians or to book individual/small group time in the room and select their own meditations from our library.
