Enumerative Combinatorics
Dr. Opel Jones joins the Towson University faculty as a Clinical Assistant Professor. A native of Brooklyn, New York, and a proud graduate of Prince George’s County Public Schools, he received his baccalaureate from Hampton University, and his master’s degree and Ph.D. from Howard University, all in mathematics. Prior to joining the Towson family, he worked as a systems/software engineer at Lockheed Martin, Director of the Leadership Institute at Hampton University, a computer scientist for the United States Census Bureau, and a lecturer of mathematics and statistics at several institutions. Dr. Jones’s research focuses on enumerative combinatorics, specifically pattern avoidance as well as permutation statistics. He and his wife are raising three wonderful children and reside in Howard County.
