The Honors College recognizes that parents play a vital role in the personal and educational success of students. We also know how much easier it is to support and encourage students when you have up-to-date information about all the resources and opportunities the Honors College has to offer.

Honors Parent Council

As an additional resource to the Towson University Family Network, the Honors Parent Council is a community of parents committed to initiatives that enhance the honors student experience at TU. In support of the mission and future development of the Towson University Honors College, the goals of the Honors College Parents Council are to:

  • Provide opportunities for parents of highly-motivated students to share advice and information;
  • Facilitate opportunities for parents to build relationships with Honors College faculty and staff;
  • Assist parents with navigating and identifying the best resources for their students;
  • Make the experiences of honors students even more personally and educationally rewarding;
  • Raise awareness about the opportunities inherent in undergraduate honors education;
  • Enrich the Honors College community and build a network that benefits students and alumni;
  • Facilitate communication between students, families and the Honors College; and
  • Increase the stature and reputation of the Towson University Honors College

In order to connect to the Honors Parent Council and stay abreast of opportunities available to Honors College students, we encourage all parents and family members to join the Honors College Weekly mailing list by contacting us at .

The founders of the Honors Parent Council are Margie and Paul Cronhardt (Megan '15 and Lauren '18).  Read their welcome to learn about how valuable the Honors experience has been to them and their students. Lauri and David Sacks (Brandon '16 and Morgan '20) currently chair the council.
