Towson University is calling its community to make a bigger impact.
TU Big Give, the one-day, campus community-wide giving effort led by the Division of University Advancement, is returning April 21.

With a goal of 1,500 online donors for the day, there are many different causes and areas of contributions during the Big Give. Donors will be able to pick from emergency funds to scholarships, departments, academic and athletic programs, research opportunities, community initiatives and more.

"Whether you give $5 or $5,000, every gift will make a difference in the lives of TU students for decades to come," says Nky McGinnis, director of the annual campaign. "Now more than ever, we need you to put on your black and gold and show the world what it means to be a Tiger."

Alumni, parents, faculty and staff will be receiving post cards and emails sharing information regarding this year’s TU Big Give. Gifts can be made on the day of the TU Big Give at give.towson.edu.

The 2020 TU Big Give cultivated about $130,000 from 1,300 donors. In addition, an anonymous member of the class of 1979 donated $50,000 in a matching gift. In total, donors raised an estimated $180,000, with the bulk of the funds going to the TU Faculty & Staff Emergency Fund, the TU Fund and TU Student Emergency & Food Insecurity Fund.

“Last year, we were able to come together as a community to show everyone that we are TU Together, and that remains true this year and every year,” says McGinnis. “Please make your gift in support of TU Big Give. Help us to take this one day to make a bigger impact.”

The momentum of philanthropic giving is strong among the Towson University community, and it has been on full display over the past year. A series of large gifts have helped TU raise $12,589,346 toward its annual goal of $14,500,000.
