Parking and Transportation Services is incentivizing the campus community to give back this holiday season. From now through Dec. 12, their Can Your Citation drive allows students, faculty and staff to reduce parking fines by donating unopened toys, toiletries and canned foods to organizations in need.

Tigers can reduce one standard parking fine by up to $100 (or the highest charge for standard citations). Two toys or five canned goods equate to a $25 fine reduction, with reductions increasing with more donations. A complete list of reduction amounts and eligible items is available on TU Today. Citations that have been appealed, transferred to a University Billing account or that impacted safety (like those for parking in fire lanes) are ineligible.

Donations can be dropped off from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday at the Parking and Transportation Services Office on the lower level of the Union Garage. All food and toiletries collected will be donated to the TU FoodShare, which provides weekly bags of food to students, faculty and staff experiencing food insecurity. Toys will be donated to Toys for Tots in collaboration with the Office of Public Safety.
