I remember moving into our temporary housing at Mt. St. Agnes while our dorms were being renovated. It was an interesting experience, in 1974, I believe.

A group of girls met in the fall semester of 1982 in Prettyman 2nd floor hallway. We have maintained our friendship just as if were September 1982. We all have maintained contact. But in 2011, thanks to Facebook and tracking everyone down, we held our first reunion back at Towson. We even got a tour of Prettyman. We now meet a couple times a year (once a year at Towson and then at other gatherings to include Crab Feast, bowling and beach time). As one of the girls put it, 'The Prettyman girls are a unique group of extraordinary women.' Thank you TSU Prettyman for bringing a great group of ladies together for life.

My roomie Julie and I transferred to Towson (State) in the fall of 1995 together and lived in Prettyman. Move-in was great: meeting all the new people, checking out their room decor (posters, magazine cut-outs), and of course, writing messages in dry erase marker on the white boards on their doors!

I met the woman that would later become my wife on move-in day, August 1996. She was my first RA in Tower B.

My orientation roommate (Nicole Evans Beane) and I hit it off so well that we asked to be roommates freshman year! It was such a great year!

I met my dear friend (and future longterm roommate) sophomore year moving into Tower B. Kathleen Flannery was a freshman. My sister and I boxed out my mom in the elevator!

Tower B 1999...I commuted my first three years and decided to do things backwards and lived on campus my senior year. Met many good friends that year I wouldn’t have otherwise met. I also gave tours and got to help the freshman move in.

I moved into Richmond Hall as a freshman, first floor in 2002. I was sitting on my bed with emotions inside me and in walks a girl and says she was in this room the previous year and wanted to see who was living in it for the new school year. She told me and my roommate Becky her name was Donna Salgado, and she was living on an upper floor. We had a small conversation and then she left. Thought I may see her from time to time since she lives in the building. Well, it turns out she and I are sister-in-laws. We married brothers. Turned out to be a small world at Towson.

I lived In the residence tower dorm from 2003–2007 (international students dorm). I met and made friends with international students from all over the world and I developed a greater understanding of diverse cultural backgrounds and traditions.

Move-in day for sophomores in Res Tower, 2009, I ran into someone who was a freshman and went to the same high school as me (although we didn’t know each other at all). Yada yada yada and now we’re married.

In 2011 or so, I was move-in crew for West Village. I arrived on campus right before they decided to close the campus down in preparation for an incoming hurricane. There were only a few of us there at the time. The storm was intense, and we were without electricity for several days. It was a while before campus opened, and everyone else on move-in crew trickled in. Most of the campus got electricity back in time for move in, but we didn’t in West Village. We had to do the entire move-in day without elevators or lights. It was so physically intense and demanding, one of the more difficult things I did at Towson, but also one of the most rewarding and beautiful. There were so many incredible people and so much beautiful team work and problem solving. I had a blast, and it was a great start to my sophomore year. 🖤💛
