Additional administrative leave days granted for fall 2026
President Ginsberg announced the university will be closed for administrative leave on Monday, Dec. 21 and Tuesday, Dec. 22
Dear TU faculty and staff,
In my recent State of the University address, I had the privilege of reflecting on the remarkable progress we are making together and the momentum that continues to build across Towson University.
At the heart of every accomplishment I shared is you—our extraordinary faculty and staff.
Every day, I see the care you bring to our students, the pride you take in our university and the many ways you support one another. Our successes are possible because of your talent, dedication and belief in TU and its future. I am deeply grateful for all you do.
As one small but meaningful way to recognize your efforts, I am pleased to share that TU will provide two additional administrative leave days at the conclusion of the fall semester on Monday, Dec. 21 and Tuesday, Dec. 22, 2026.
These additional days mean our winter break will extend from Saturday, Dec. 19, 2026 through Sunday, Jan. 3, 2027. Campus will be closed during this time period. My hope is that this extended break gives you an opportunity to truly step away, recharge and enjoy time with those most important to you.
Essential personnel who are required to work on Dec. 21 or Dec. 22, or at other times determined by circumstances, will be able to schedule an equivalent administrative leave day(s) to be used by the end of January 2027. Employees who have already scheduled annual leave for either day will have that time changed to administrative leave. Additional information will be shared by the Office of Human Resources as we approach the winter break.
I hope you will enjoy this well-earned time off during the holiday season.
We have much to celebrate at Towson University and even more to look forward to.
All the best.
Mark R. Ginsberg, Ph.D.
President
