On April 22, the collective power of Towson University’s community shined during the Big Give 2026—TU's annual day of giving. Surpassing the goal of 2,250 donors, more than 2,600 people donated more than $540,000 in just 24 hours. The impact of the eighth annual Big Give will be felt by students across campus for months and years to come.

“We are incredibly grateful for the enthusiasm and generosity shown by our alumni, students, faculty, staff and friends,” says Kristen McCurdy, director of annual giving at TU. “Big Give continues to grow each year through reach and participation, and the support we saw in 2026 reflects a deep commitment to our students and the future of Towson University.”

Donors were able to choose from more than 900 funds during the campaign, supporting scholarships, academic programs, student success initiatives and experiential learning opportunities across campus.

The top five beneficiaries of Big Give 2026 were Towson University Athletics, the College of Fine Arts and Communication, the College of Liberal Arts, the College of Education and the College of Business and Economics. A complete breakdown of results is available on the campaign leaderboard.

Towson University Athletics received the highest number of donors with (1,020) followed by the Fisher College of Science and Mathematics (234) and the College of Health Professions (198).

This year’s day of giving also demonstrated strong support for student-focused programs that make a direct impact on the TU experience. Donors showed up in a meaningful way for the Military and Veterans Center, helping ensure TU’s student veterans and military-connected students continue to receive personalized advising, community support and resources tailored to their unique needs. Contributions to student scholarships opened doors for students to persist and thrive academically, while gifts to the Student Leadership Initiatives Fund invested in developing confident, engaged leaders through hands-on learning and co-curricular experiences. Together, these areas exemplify how philanthropy fuels opportunity, belonging and leadership across campus.

"Thank you to everyone who participated in the 2026 Big Give," says Brian DeFilippis, vice president for the Office of University Advancement. "The response from our community has been remarkable and is a testament to what makes Towson special."

There’s still time to make an impact.

If you’d like to support Towson University and help inspire the next generation of leaders, you can still decide where to give.
