Community Engagement and Societal Impact Fellowship to support students, alumni and community partners
Towson University’s College of Business & Economics has appointed Tanja R. Darden, Ph.D., as the inaugural faculty leadership fellow for Community Engagement and Societal Impact (CESI).
This fellowship advances CBE's 2025–2030 strategic plan by strengthening connections among faculty, students, alumni, regional business and nonprofit partners.
As a CESI fellow, Darden will support the development of community-based projects, cultivate entrepreneurial partnerships and build relationships between CBE and nonprofit organizations. She will foster partnerships that create career pathways, address Maryland’s economic and social challenges and strengthen CBE’s role in innovation and workforce development.
Darden spent 18 years as a consultant in information technology and organizational strategy before becoming an assistant professor in the Department of Management. Her research examines inclusion, employee–supervisor relationships and the experiences of minority entrepreneurs.
