President's Message
Celebrating the 2025-26 academic year
President Ginsberg sent the following message to the TU community to mark the end of the spring semester.
Tigers:
It has been another remarkable year at Towson University. From national recognitions
to achievements in research, scholarship and the creative arts—the 2025-26 academic
year has been one defined by momentum.
This year, we welcomed more than 5,600 new Tigers to our community, marking our first
year-over-year enrollment growth since 2018. We were also once again ranked among
the nation’s top public universities, specifically recognized for access, affordability
and student outcomes as well as faculty innovation and our university’s engagement
in the community.
The accolades continued throughout the year, with TU being named one of the top workplaces
in America and earning recognition as a leader in inclusive excellence, veteran support
and for our focus on both sustainability and civic engagement. We are proud of these
distinctions, but even more, we are proud of what they represent—that TU is a place
where people are valued, respected and empowered to succeed.
We expanded our impact in many ways thanks to the support and generosity of our extended
community. It was an extraordinary year for philanthropy, which included gifts to
establish scholarships, investment in our programs and the highest number of donors
in TU’s Big Give history.
Our campus also served as a vibrant gathering place for neighbors and supporters who
visited TU for hundreds of art exhibits, performances, lectures, athletics and other
events—opportunities that showcased the creativity, scholarship, talent and spirit
of our university community.
Now, in just a few short days, the academic year will culminate with commencement
ceremonies honoring nearly 3,000 undergraduate, master’s and doctoral graduates. These
Tigers will join more than 200,000 alumni across the globe who are making a difference
in society.
Indeed, it has been a year of success and continued ascent for Towson University.
Our rise is driven by the students, faculty and staff who call TU home.
I encourage you to join me at the Tiger Tuesday Bash as together we celebrate TU pride and our university’s many achievements. We will
have games and giveaways for students, along with a Faculty & Staff Appreciation Station
to recognize the hard work, accomplishments and dedication of our colleagues throughout
the year.
I express my gratitude and appreciation to the entire TU community.
Elaine and I hope you have an enjoyable and relaxing summer.
Go Tigers!
Sincerely,
Mark R. Ginsberg, Ph.D.
President
