Towson University President Mark Ginsberg has been named to The Daily Record’s inaugural MD500 list, a new recognition program for 2026 that expands on previous sector-specific yearly power lists. The list recognizes leaders across industries who represent Maryland’s entrepreneurial spirit and commitment to excellence.

Since becoming president of TU in 2023, Ginsberg has championed initiatives that support student success, improve career and workforce readiness, and deepen engagement with business and community partners.

Under Ginsberg’s leadership the past three years, TU has continued to earn top national recognitions, most recently ranking as the No. 1 public university in Maryland, reaffirming the university’s commitment to academic excellence and student success.

President Ginsberg was also named one of Maryland’s Most Admired CEOs for 2026 by The Daily Record. This marks his second time on the list after earning a spot in 2024. This year, he joins Salisbury University President Carolyn Lepre on the list of admired CEOs in higher education.

According to The Daily Record, the Most Admired CEOs list honors executives “whose leadership and vision are admired by those around them,” with winners selected by a panel of judges based on “professional accomplishments, community service and the letters of reference submitted by co-workers, board members and community leaders showing the CEOs’ leadership and vision.”
