Position

The College of Liberal Arts invites applications for a tenure-track, 10-month Assistant Professor of French position in the Department of Foreign Languages beginning August 2020.

 

Qualifications

PhD in French at time of appointment and native or near-native fluency in French is required.

 

Responsibilities

Evidence of excellence in teaching and demonstrated potential for successful scholarly activity. Teach all levels of French from elementary to advanced. Preference will be given to candidates with a specialization in linguistics, with the ability to teach courses in phonetics, the history of the French language, and advanced grammar. Experience in service learning or working with francophone communities a plus.

The Foreign Languages Department (https://www.towson.edu/cla/departments/foreignlanguages/) offers majors in French, French Education, Spanish, and Spanish Education; minors in Chinese, French, German, Italian, Japanese, and Spanish; courses in Arabic, Greek (Ancient), Hebrew (Biblical and Modern), Latin, Portuguese, Russian, and Swahili; and a Post-Baccalaureate Certificate in Professional Spanish.
