Career Exploration

The Career Exploration Residential Learning Community provides students with the opportunity to engage with other students around career and major exploration.  Students in the community will engage in strategies to explore, plan, and prepare for their careers.  The experience will equip students with the skills and strategies to make informed career decisions, obtain internships, explore graduate education, and ultimately secure professional employment in their preferred career field.  This community is a partnership with the Career Center and Housing & Residence Life.

What are the eligibility requirements?

Residents in the Career Exploration Community must take GENL 121: Life and Career Planning on Wednesdays from 3-5pm in the Fall term.

The community is for sophomore+ students who are eligible to live in Carroll Hall.

What staffing is there for the community?

The community will have at least two Resident Assistants and multiple Liaisons designated to work with the community. Additionally, there will be support from the Career Center and Housing & Residence Life. 

  How do I make a special accommodations request?

Through the online housing request process there will be an opportunity to complete a special accommodation request. 

  How many roommates will I have?

Apartments are, mostly 4-person apartments, with a few 2-person apartments.  Each person in the apartment will have a private bedroom.

Does my roommate have to be a part of the Career Exploration Community?

No, your roommate does not need to be a part of the Career Exploration Community.

When was the Career Exploration Community established?

The Career Exploration Community was established in Fall 2016 in Carroll Hall.  This is a new and exciting partnership that you can be a part of.
