We are currently accepting graduate assistantship applications for the 2024-2025 academic year.

Being a Graduate Assistant means you provide leadership and support to students within our residential community of nearly 6,100 students. We are seeking highly motivated, creative, and community-oriented leaders. In this live-in position, we are looking for professionals who can be positive role-models that take initiative, contribute to positive team dynamics, and embrace our department’s core values.

Yes!  You may apply for multiple positions with the submission of a single application packet.  Please be sure to note in your cover letter all the positions that interest you.  If you are invited to interview, you will interview for all positions to which you applied in a single interview.

The people listed for your professional references should be people who are able to speak to your work experience and skills. They should not be members of your family. 

Qualifications

No, it is not required to have worked in Residence Life however, it is important that you can demonstrate the ability to work with and lead students. 

Job Responsibilities

It is expected that you will be available for work on some nights and weekends, especially to support afterhours student events.  On weeks where night or weekend work is required, you will have additional flexibility in scheduling your hours for the week.

The curriculum is made up of the events and initiatives in the residence halls that contribute to student learning.  Our curricular learning goals center on our Core Values: Safety & Security, Learning & Education, Inclusive & Welcoming Communities, Discovery of Self, and Engagement & Connection.

Global Village is a Living Learning Community housed in Residence Tower that allows international and domestic students the opportunity to live together. 

Live in Experience

Apartments are furnished, and we will be unable to remove the current furniture in those spaces. Though you will be able to bring furniture with you, it may be helpful to view some videos/pictures of apartments to get an idea of what may be included.

Yes. Our department allows for household members to live on campus with Graduate Assistants.
