The OTS Project Management Office (PMO) facilitates, guides and manages technology initiatives and projects that are aligned with Towson University’s strategic direction.
Request intake, received online by the Project Management Office (PMO) through TeamDynamix. If necessary, PMO Director discusses request with EITC representative for additional information.
PMO presents the request to the Project Management Office Committee (PMOC), which is comprised of OTS Directors and the CIO. PMOC meetings are held bi-weekly.
CIO meets with VP/Provost to present and discuss the request, ensuring there is request support. VP/Provost gives OTS the ok to investigate, or VP/Provost declines the request. These meetings are generally scheduled as needed, with no specific timeline.
After VP/Provost meeting, and with approval to investigate the request, the PMO brings the reviewed request back to the next PMOC bi-weekly meeting. The Committee assigns an OTS Liaison to investigate the request.
The Liaison meets with the requestor and relevant OTS staff to determine involvement, specifically OTS hours. There is no specific time frame for this Phase II step, as its dependent upon the priority of the request.
The Liaison meets with relevant OTS Directors and the CIO to review and confirm OTS hours of effort. There is no specific timeframe for this step in the workflow
The CIO, with confirmed support of VP/Provost, officially approves the project. The PMOC identifies and assigns a Project Manager, and converts the request to a project in TeamDynamix.
