For TU students of all experience levels, SCS is proud to offer three multimedia production
studios featuring a wide-range of tools, as well as support staff to provide orientation
and consulting. Whether you are a media major or not, you have creative potential,
and SCS wants to help you discover it.
OTS Student Computing Services offers three studios to help TU students of all disciplines
and skill levels from both Towson and TUNE campuses grow their video, audio and graphic development skills.
All three studios are equipped with a full range of software titles, and our dual-boot (MacOS X/Windows 7) iMac computers are performance optimized for
media production work.
Students new to video production will also appreciate our staff of multimedia support
specialists and free access to Lynda.com tutorials.
How to reserve a studio
All of our studios are adjacent to and operate on the same schedule as the SCS Computer Lab in Cook 35. Students may reserve studio space for up to two hours, either online, by email or in person. When making a reservation, students may also request that staff assistance
be provided during the studio session. In order to successfully arrange assistance,
we require advanced notice and as much detail as possible on the nature of the work.
SCS Studios are not an appropriately private space for clients to work with nude models,
and reservations made for this purpose will be canceled. For this type of shoot, clients
are encouraged to use more appropriate spaces in Center for the Arts.
Each SCS Studio is stocked with the equipment listed below. Students planning to record
video or audio can either bring their own devices or reserve Gear2Go and Gear4Here items for use during their studio sessions.
1 Apple iMac 27-inch computer running both MacOS X and Windows 7 Professional
1 Behringer XENYX X1222 USB audio interface and mixer
1 Blue Yeti Pro XLR microphone, shock-mounted on an adjustable boom
