A message to our campus community
President Ginsberg and Provost Perreault shared the following message to the TU community after the passing of Dean Aneil Mishra.
August 5, 2024
Dear TU faculty, staff and students,
It is with heavy hearts and great personal sadness, that we inform our Towson University Community about the passing of Dr. Aneil Mishra, Dean of TU’s College of Business & Economics. Dean Mishra died Sunday evening. He was 62.
Dean Mishra is survived by his family, including former TU professor Karen Mishra and their children. Our hearts go out to them and everyone who is touched by this devastating and sudden loss. It is often impossible to explain tragedy — this is such a moment.
We met this morning with members of the CBE leadership and staff, to offer them our personal support and the support of the university’s resources. We will share more information about arrangements as it becomes available.
As always, faculty and staff are encouraged to take advantage of 24/7 crisis counseling and support through Guidance Resources (the Employee Assistance Program) at 855-410-7628. In addition, mental health resources are available for students with same day appointments through the University Counseling Center at 410-704-2512 or online at towson.edu/counseling. There are no charges for these services.
We will get through this tragedy together — as a caring community. We keep in our hearts those most directly impacted — Aneil’s family, friends, colleagues and everyone he has touched throughout his illustrious career and incredible life. We grieve together for the loss of our colleague and friend.
Sincerely,
Mark R. Ginsberg, Ph.D.
President
Melanie Perreault, Ph.D.
