Beyoncé highlights TU Vibe Dance Team’s “Before I Let Go” video

The team’s answer to the megastar’s #beforeiletgochallenge racks up thousands of fans—including Queen Bey herself

When Beyoncé issued the #beforeiletgochallenge in April, calling on fans to perform a routine to her cover of the 1981 hit “Before I Let Go,” the Towson University Vibe Dance Team happily took on the challenge.

“We weren’t going to say no to Beyoncé,” team secretary and events coordinator Brianna Coleman ’19 told the Baltimore Sun. “We thought it would be a great opportunity to do a professional film and figured it would be good publicity for the group.”

The video quickly racked up more than 140,000 views, gaining praise from students, alumni, local media—and even the Knowles family.

Beyoncé’s mother, Tina Knowles-Lawson, shared the video on Instagram last week. And when Queen Bey posted the video on her Instagram story Thursday, it put the whole team “on cloud nine,” Coleman says.

"It’s allowed us to bond more," Coleman told WJZ. "It’s allowed us to connect more through dancing. Even on the stage. You can see and feel the connection we have.”

So this just happened on a certain Queen’s Insta-feed. #TUproud #BeforeILetGoChallenge
