Why should you vote?
TU students vote because...
“Our generation has a lot to say about multiple issues going on in the U.S. There are different questions and candidates on the ballot in Maryland, and students who are just entering TU want to know how to make their voices heard. So, as a student organization, it's important that we explore these topics and provide resources that help students register to vote and see what will be on the ballot so they can prepare for the upcoming elections.” - Zach Miller, president of Common-Sense Politics
“Whether or not you follow politics, the decisions made by elected officials shape our education, communities and many other facets of our lives. As someone directly affected by those decisions, I want to have a say in who is making them. We're students now, but the policies being shaped today will ultimately become the future we inherit, so I think it’s important that we have a voice in shaping that future.” - Melísa Bonenge, freshman mass communication major
“I want to utilize my voice, especially knowing that voting is a right and privilege that was not always a right extended to everyone, especially people who look like me. I believe it’s important to use that voice to have a say in the decisions and policies that affect my community and my future.” - Ifeoma Onyebuchi, sophomore business administration major
