This month has been a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the people who make Towson University such a special place—our talented staff and faculty.

The University System of Maryland announced five members of our TU community received Board of Regents Awards, the highest honor presented by the system. This year, three faculty members and two staff members were recognized for mentoring, public service, creativity and their work to support TU students in and out of the classroom. I know our entire university offers congratulations to Amanda Burnham, Seth Gitter, Michael Franklin, Tammie King-Kelly and Jeff Kukucka for this much-deserved achievement.

We also gathered for our annual Faculty and Staff Recognition event, where we celebrated colleagues whose service and contributions continue to shape our university’s legacy. More than 340 employees were recognized for service milestones ranging from five years to an extraordinary 60 years at TU. Among them, 56 individuals marked 25 years or more—a remarkable testament to the lasting commitment so many bring to this institution and our mission. We also honored recipients of our Diversity & Inclusion Awards, recognizing employees and departments who help advance inclusive excellence on our campus.

Moments like these remind us that Towson University’s greatest strength is its people. To everyone recognized—and to the many faculty and staff whose daily efforts support our students and one another—thank you for the care, commitment and hard work you bring to our campus every day.

Indeed, it has been a great month in celebration of Tiger Pride.

All the best,

Mark R. Ginsberg, Ph.D.

President
