What you need to know about campus during break

Finals have finished and the tassel-topped students have arrived at SECU Arena. Another term in the books.
Here’s what you need to know for break.
Housing
All dormitory-style housing will close at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 19 and reopen at noon starting Saturday, Jan. 26 and continuing on Sunday, Jan. 27. Apartment-style living areas will remain open throughout the break.
Health and safety inspections began at 9 a.m. on Dec. 19.
Campus Rec
All Campus Recreation facilities will be closing at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 18 and will be closed for the university break from Wednesday, Dec. 19–Tuesday, Jan. 1. The facility will reopen on Wednesday, Jan. 2 at noon.
Free shuttle
TU students, faculty and staff can take a free shuttle to and from Penn Station and BWI Marshall Airport on Dec. 18 and on Dec. 24–25. The shuttle will depart campus from the Union Garage Bus Slip, on the ground level of Union Garage.
Reservations and a valid TU ID are required. Riders should allow ample time for traffic or any applicable security checks at BWI Marshall Airport or Penn Station. This service is provided on a first come, first served basis. Go to Bit.ly/TUSHUTTLE to reserve a seat.
There is NO return service.
The Winter Break BWI/Penn Station shuttle schedule is as follows:
Departure Schedule—Union Garage Bus Slip to Penn Station & BWI Departure Terminal:
- Dec. 18 – 11 a.m., 1 p.m., 3 p.m., 5 p.m.
Dec. 24–25 – 9 a.m., 11 a.m., 1 p.m., 3 p.m., 5 p.m.
The last day for off-campus service is Tuesday, Dec. 18. The on-campus gold route will end at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 19.
Commencement Shuttles and paratransit ONLY will run on Dec. 19 (after 9 a.m.) and Thursday, Dec. 20.
Holiday/Winter Break service will start on Jan. 2 and run through Jan. 22. Schedules are posted on the website and on TUTIGERRIDE.com.
Tiger in Town, Gold Route and Safe Ride will begin again on Saturday January 26th.
Off campus and paratransit will start again on January 28.

Parking
From Wednesday, Dec. 12 until Friday, Jan. 18, all current TU permits will be valid in all designated Core areas and Resident areas. All other parking restrictions and regulations remain in effect during modified enforcement time frames.
Regular enforcement will resume Monday, Jan. 21, at 6 a.m. As a reminder, a valid TU permit is required year-round to park on campus from 6 a.m.–8 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 6 a.m.–3 p.m. Friday.
