Tigers win CAA volleyball title

The Towson University women's volleyball team completed a perfect Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) season Sunday. The top-seeded Tigers swept No. 2 James Madison in the 2019 CAA Championship match (25-23, 25-17, 25-18) at the David S. Mack Physical Education Center on the campus of Hofstra University.

TU (28-2) has won its last 22 matches while going unbeaten in 2019 against CAA opponents, sweeping the regular season at 16-0 followed by two wins in the CAA Championship Tournament. The 2019 Tigers are first team to run the table in the conference since the 1996 season.

The Tigers earned the CAA's automatic qualifying berth to the 2019 NCAA Tournament. The first round of the NCAA Tournament is scheduled for Dec. 5-7. Selection Sunday will be on Dec. 1 at 8:30 p.m. on ESPNU.
